Boyland Street early Monday morning.<\/p>\n<p>DaShawn Larode, 25, allegedly opened his first-floor apartment door and fired a shotgun at police. NYPD officer Sharjeel Warris returned fire, striking Larode.<\/p>\n<p>The 25-year-old officer was grazed in the face by a bullet and is expected to make a full recovery.<\/p>\n<p>News 12 spoke with Larode\u2019s family before he was publicly identified by police.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was a great person with a genuine heart and yeah, I think that he was definitely in the wrong place at the wrong time,\u201d said his sister Dashawna.<\/p>\n<p>The shooting was captured on police body-worn cameras.
