WASHINGTON (TNDD) \u2014 Prominent Trump critic and lawyer George Conway is potentially going to run for a New York Congressional seat, according to reports.<\/p>\n

While Conway lives in Maryland, he hired a Democratic pollster who is working on a campaign for him to succeed Rep. Jerry Nadler who announced he was retiring, according to The New York Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n

George Conway\u2019s ex-wife is Kellyanne Conway <\/a>who served as Senior Counselor to the President of the U.S. during the first Trump administration.<\/p>\n

A source told CNN<\/a> that while Conway is an Independent, he is strongly considering running for New York\u2019s 12th Congressional District.<\/p>\n

Conway pitched running for Nadler\u2019s seat earlier this week during a private virtual event.<\/p>\n

Video footage of the event obtained by The New York Times, showed that Conway said he would run as a Democrat.<\/p>\n

He used to be a part of the Federalist Society and if he were to run, he would point to his record of being a fierce critic of President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n
