A longtime New York City cafe, Maman, has opened its first Texas location in Dallas. <\/p>\n

The French all-day cafe, covered in toile and known for nutty chocolate chip cookies, opened Thursday in Preston Center with a line wrapped around the building. <\/p>\n

Maman and its rustic, French provencal aesthetic were created by Elisa Marshall and Benjamin Sormonte who opened the first location in Soho in 2014. There are now 50 others across the country.<\/p>\n

Maman serves a full menu of salads, soups and sandwiches, but it is perhaps best known for its pastries.<\/p>\n

The Dallas location opened in the space previously occupied by Trova Wine and Market<\/a>, which shuttered in January.<\/p>\n

The cafe has a line up of pastries made in house, quiches, salads, soups and sandwiches. A handful of menu items were created specifically for Dallas, like a croissant roll filled with brisket, cheddar, mustard and herbs, and another with salted caramel and toasted maple pecans. <\/p>\n

Maman\u2019s calling card is the nutty chocolate chip cookies that drew lines out the door in the cafe\u2019s earlier days and were featured on Oprah\u2019s Favorite Things list. <\/p>\n

Speaking of celebrities, Maman, which considers itself a lifestyle brand, partnered with Martha Stewart to create dishes like a caramel cream sugar bun and a chicken salad sandwich, which are on the menu.<\/p>\n

Maman opened Nov. 20 at 4004 Villanova St., Dallas. Its hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. <\/p>\n
