\n\tBEING A PART OF IT: Nicolas Ghesqui\u00e8re is to parade his cruise<\/a> 2027 collection for Louis Vuitton<\/a> on May 20 in New York City, WWD has learned.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe venue and other details are still under wraps. <\/p>\n

\n\tGhesqui\u00e8re, artistic director of women\u2019s collections at Vuitton since 2013, typically selects an architectural marvel as a transporting backdrop for Vuitton\u2019s cruise<\/a> displays.<\/p>\n

\n\tThese have included the TWA Flight Center at JFK Airport in New York by Eero Saarinen, which took place in May 2019, just before the midcentury modern building reopened as the TWA Hotel.<\/p>\n

\n\tLast year, Ghesqui\u00e8re went with a totally different mood, staging Vuitton\u2019s cruise 2026 show at the Palais des Papes, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Avignon, France, and a marvel of Gothic architecture.<\/p>\n

\n\tOver the years Vuitton cruise shows have taken place at locations including the Bob Hope estate by John Lautner in Palm Springs, Calif.; Brazil\u2019s otherworldly Museum of Contemporary Art Niter\u00f3i by Oscar Niemeyer; Kyoto\u2019s Miho Museum by Ieoh Ming Pei; the Fondation Maeght in Saint-Paul de Vence by Josep Llu\u00eds Sert; Barcelona\u2019s Park G\u00fcell, the fairy-tale gardens designed by modernist architect Antoni Gaud\u00ed; the Salk Institute in San Diego, a clifftop research facility, and Isola Bella, the small Italian island on Lake Maggiore that has been owned by the Borromeo family for some four centuries.<\/p>\n

\n\tNew York remains a strong magnet for European fashion brands: Last year, Ala\u00efa paraded its winter-spring 2025 collection at the Guggenheim Museum, and Ludovic de Saint Sernin his fall 2024 collection in a warehouse space.<\/p>\n
