STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 Northwell Health is launching an AI platform, promising access to comprehensive primary care 24 hours a day, according to an announcement this week.<\/p>\n
The new joint collaboration with K Health<\/a> will transform the delivery of primary care services across New York, Northwell Health, which operates Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze, K Health said in Thursday\u2019s announcement.<\/p>\n The platform, called Northwell Primary Care Now, will be powered by K Health\u2019s clinical-grade AI, designed to provide seamless access to comprehensive primary care around the clock, the announcement said. <\/p>\n The AI platform has only been introduced as a pilot program in some select central region sites. <\/p>\n The new service will deliver personalized, high-quality primary care directly to patients whenever and wherever they need it, according to the K Health announcement.<\/p>\n \u201cThis new joint venture represents a significant step forward in making quality health care more accessible to our patients,\u201d said John D\u2019Angelo, CEO of Northwell Health, \u201cBy integrating K Health\u2019s AI platform with our existing care services, we\u2019re expanding our ability to deliver comprehensive primary care that meets patients where they are.\u201d<\/p>\n Northwell Primary Care Now will allow patients to make same-day appointments with Northwell clinicians and will be fully integrated within Northwell, ensuring that care provided by primary care physicians is connected to the care patients receive across all Northwell Health facilities and services, according to the announcement. <\/p>\n In advance of their doctor\u2019s visit, patients begin by speaking with a personalized AI Medical Chat that collects information about their symptoms and organizes it for a physician. <\/p>\n The patient is then connected with a doctor virtually or directed to an in-person appointment. By the time the physician sees the patient, the intake is already complete, making the visit faster and more focused, according to the announcement.<\/p>\n The technology is designed to supplement, not replace, traditional care, with the goal of using AI to improve responsiveness to patients, enhance information gathering and utilization, and improve overall care delivery while maintaining a live physician model. <\/p>\n \u201cWe are redefining primary care and defining a new patient centric standard of care,\u2019’ said Ran Shaul, co-founder and CPO and K Health. \u201dThe K Health technology will be available to millions of patients across numerous health system partnerships that K Health has formed across the country.
