WASHINGTON (TNDD) \u2014 The House on Friday voted 285-98 to condemn socialism the day New York City mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani visits the White House<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The resolution was introduced by Florida GOP Rep. Maria Salazar, and it laid out a list of the failures of the economic system, according to Fox News<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Two Democrats voted present while 86 of them voted with Republicans to condemn the economic system.<\/p>\n

Mamdani is expected to visit with President Donald Trump on Friday. The soon-to-be mayor said he wanted to meet with Trump before taking office.<\/p>\n

“My team reached out to the White House to set up this meeting because I will work with anyone to make life more affordable for the more than eight and a half million people who call this city home,” Mamdani told reporters earlier this week.<\/a><\/p>\n

“I have many disagreements with the president, and I believe that we should be relentless and pursue all avenues and all meetings that could make our city affordable for every single New Yorker,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

Trump announced he was meeting with Mamdani on TRUTH Social.<\/p>\n
