He was charged with strangulation and assault.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Mehmood allegedly choked a 22-year-old woman who is a member of his family, a police source said. More information about his relationship with the victim was not immediately forthcoming.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Mehmood has been a member of NYPD since April 2024, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.50-a.org\/officer\/WJ4V\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:public records;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">public records<\/a>. He is currently assigned to the 62nd Precinct in Bensonhurst, where he has served since August.
