The Bronx District Attorney\u2019s Office announced the sentencing of a Bronx man for murdering his estranged wife in Allerton.<\/p>\n
Lacon Brown, 50, will serve 20 years to life behind bars for fatally shooting Cindy Maxwell, 45, in front of her two young daughters in August 2023.<\/p>\n
Brown shot Maxwell multiple times inside an apartment at 660 Arnow Ave. He pleaded guilty on Sept. 26.<\/p>\n
The DA\u2019s office says he forced the young girls, 11 and 6 years old, to \u201c…get dressed and step over their mother’s body as they fled the apartment.\u201d<\/p>\n
Prosecutors say Brown did not call 911. Maxwell\u2019s body was discovered wrapped in a blanket three days later, after reports of a foul odor coming from her apartment.<\/p>\n
Multiple bullet holes were observed on the walls inside the home, where a loaded gun was recovered.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe took their mother away and traumatized these girls.
