About a minute later, Bailey and Aversa teamed to set up Antenucci for a beautiful tip-in to make it 2-0.

“We continued to push and 29 seconds later, Sears set up Aversa to make it 3-0,” said Eagles coach Ed Blackburn. “St. Francis called a time out to try to slow the game down.”

The second period was scoreless as St. Peter’s played excellent defense, holding the defending two-time champions at bay as goalie Christopher DiDonna made a few great saves to keep it scoreless.

Nearly eight minutes into the third, King picked up the puck at the blueline and found Sears at the side of the net and hit him with a pass and Sears buried it to complete the scoring.

DiDonna made 32 saves.

The Eagles don’t play again until Dec. 5 versus Holy Cross at Aviator.
