The private in the tony Long Island town features a golf club, tennis courts and pool.  The Muttontown Club<\/p>\n<p>The Nassau County town is home to 3,496 residents, including Grammy winner Alicia Keys and former Jets quarterback Chad Pennington. <\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, a separate GOBankingRates study uncovered that Scarsdale, a tony town in Westchester County, was the wealthiest suburb in America. <\/p>\n<p>However, as it has more than 1,500 households, it was excluded from the new small town study. <\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49926794;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"37738997\" width=\"885\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/2022-honor-19-children-two-116029212.jpg\" alt=\"An American flag flies at half-staff in Newtown, Connecticut, in honor of the victims of the Uvalde, Texas, school shooting.\" class=\"wp-image-37738997\"  \/>Newtown was named the richest small town in the state of Connecticut.  AP<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, GOBankingRates determined that Glen Ridge was the richest small town in New Jersey, with a median household income of $248,000 and an average home value of $1.1 million. <\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, Newtown was named the wealthiest small town in Connecticut, although property prices and household income were lower there on average.  <\/p>\n<p>The average home value in the picturesque hamlet is $661,000, while the median household income is $161,000. <\/p>\n<p>Palos Verdes Estates, located south of Los Angeles, was determined to be the richest small town in California. <\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gobankingrates.com\/investing\/real-estate\/richest-small-town-in-every-state\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">full GOBankingRates list <\/a>can be accessed here. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Small towns, big price tags.
