A 30-year-old former substitute teacher was sentenced to 10 years in prison<\/a> on Wednesday after she was convicted of paying middle school students for sex as well as providing them with drugs and alcohol.<\/p>\n

Carissa Jane Smith of Dixon, Mo. was arrested in November of last year<\/a> and charged with 19 felony counts including statutory rape and child sex trafficking, the Kansas City Star reported.<\/p>\n

Smith utlimately pleaded guilty to lesser charges<\/a> this past September.<\/p>\n

According to authorities, Smith, who worked at multiple schools within the Dixon R-1 School District, would pay students $100 or more either in cash or through CashApp in exchange for sex acts, KRCG-TV reported.<\/a><\/p>\n

Smith is also alleged to have supplied students<\/a> with alcohol or marijuana in exchange for sex.<\/p>\n

The alleged abuse was not limited to one-on-one encounters.<\/a><\/p>\n

In one instance, a student was allegedly recruited by a classmate<\/a> who asked if \u201cthey wanted to do some work and make some money for work\u201d before taking them to Smith\u2019s residence, where the abuse occurred while the friend waited outside.<\/p>\n

Court documents details other shocking claims<\/a>, including one student who alleged that Smith forced him to ejaculate insider her.<\/p>\n

Smith pleaded guilty to lesser charges after she was arrested last year on 19 felony counts. Pulaski County Jail<\/p>\n

When the victim expressed his distress, stating, \u201cThat was f\u2013ked up,\u201d Smith\u2019s alleged response was to offer him more money.<\/p>\n

Authorities alleged that Smith went to great lengths to cover up her actions, including by repeatedly warnings victims not to talk about their encounters or she would \u201cget into trouble.\u201d<\/p>\n

When one of Smith\u2019s victims was said to have in his possession video of her performing oral sex, Smith \u201csmashed\u201d the student\u2019s phone to destroy the recording, court documents alleged.<\/p>\n

Smith is also alleged to have told her husband that one of her victims was blackmailing her with a video of them smoking marijuana \u2014 prompting the husband to threaten the boy with a baseball bat.<\/p>\n

In another instance, Smith\u2019s brother-in-law is alleged to have caught her in bed with an underage student after he had heard a rumor about a circulating video.<\/p>\n

The alleged crimes took place while Smith worked as a substitute teacher at Dixon Middle School. Google Maps<\/p>\n

Smith is alleged to have abused minors in various locations, including her home \u2014 often when her husband was away for work, according to authorities.<\/p>\n

Other locations where the alleged abuse took place was in Smith\u2019s car as well as in more isolated places, such as \u201con the side of the road or even on gravel roads.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Sept. 17, Smith pleaded guilty to lesser charges as part of a plea agreement , including two counts of sexual contact with a student and one count of first degree endangering the welfare of a child.<\/p>\n
