STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 A beloved Asian dessert is being recalled for undeclared ingredients after being distributed across the nation. <\/p>\n
Brooklyn\u2019s own Prime Food Processing is recalling two kinds of lava buns for including milk in its ingredients but not listing it in the allergens on the packaging. <\/p>\n
According to the Food and Drug Administration<\/a>, \u201cThe milk in these products is derived from unsalted butter listed in the ingredient statement. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk risk a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.\u201d <\/p>\n The buns \u2014 both Salted Egg Yolk and Green Tea flavored \u2014 were sold in grocery stores from April 2, 2025, to Nov. 14, 2025. <\/p>\n The Salted Egg Yolk Lava Buns, packaged in an orange wrapper, have a UPC reading as: #97903705873. The lot code is 25092-25318. <\/p>\n As for the Green Tea Lava Buns, which come in a green wrapper, the UPC is: #97803705883. The lot code for these buns is 25092-25318.<\/p>\n Both bun types come in 24-ounce packages and have printed expiration dates dating between July 2026 and March 2027, the FDA detailed.<\/a> <\/p>\n Precisely 2,243 cases are being recalled from the following states, as listed by the FDA: <\/p>\n AlabamaArizonaCaliforniaColorado Connecticut Florida GeorgiaHawaiiIllinois IndianaKansas Louisiana MassachusettsMarylandMaineMichiganMissouri MississippiNorth CarolinaNebraskaNew JerseyNew YorkOhioOklahomaOregonPennsylvaniaRhode IslandTennessee TexasUtahVirginiaWashingtonWisconsin<\/p>\n The lack of notification about the milk is being credited to \u201ca temporary breakdown in the company\u2019s label review process,\u201d the FDA said<\/a>. <\/p>\n If you or someone you know purchased the impacted buns, you can return them to the store you bought them at for a full refund; so long as they are uneaten and in their packaging. <\/p>\n Any questions or concerns?
