BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Susan Wagner ran into the PSAL girls\u2019 volleyball dynasty known as John Jay Sunday at Brooklyn College and the result was a 2-0 loss for the Falcons in the PSAL 3A city title match.<\/p>\n

Head coach Marco Altieri\u2019s club, which was seeking its first crown since 2012, dropped sets of 25-19 and 25-14. John Jay captured its fourth straight city championship.<\/p>\n

\u201cLexi Moore (John\u2019s Jay\u2019s top player) was an absolute game changer today,\u201d lamented Altieri, who suffered his third title loss since he began coaching in 2002. \u201cOur defense kept us in the first set, but in the second set, Lexi and John Jay found holes and put too much pressure on us for us to get in a rhythm.\u201d<\/p>\n

But Altieri says it\u2019s not just a one-person show for John Jay.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not just Lexi, although she\u2019s super dominant. They played clean and pit a lot of pressure on us,\u201d noted Altieri. <\/p>\n

Fiona Selimi stood out for SW with five kills.<\/p>\n

The loss was the Falcons first of the season as they finished with a 13-1 PSAL mark. John Jay went 14-0 in the league. <\/p>\n

\u201cAs always, I\u2019m proud of what we\u2019ve accomplished but sad to see this team not get what we wanted and not play together any more,\u201d said Altieri, whose club took down McKee\/Staten Island Tech, 2-0, last week<\/a> to advance to the finale.<\/p>\n
