Ian Wright here,\u201d the 62-year-old ex-striker\u2019s message began. \u201cI just want to say a massive, massive congratulations on what you\u2019ve achieved. The real work starts now, but God willing, you can achieve everything that you have set out to achieve.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Zohran Mamdani received a good luck message from Ian Wright. AP<\/p>\n<p>A visibly stunned Mamdani, 34, sputtered \u201cWhat?\u201d as the video began, then directed an \u201cI love you\u201d at Wright\u2019s image on the screen.<\/p>\n<p>Wright concluded his message by telling Mamdani that his favorite soccer team was \u201cgonna need some of that winning energy that you\u2019ve got, my friend, and get behind the boys. It\u2019s a long way to go, just have to stay calm, back [manager] Mikel [Arteta], and all the boys.<\/p>\n<p>Soccer legend Ian Wright in October 2025.
