The 28-member group includes curators, art dealers, journalists, and arts and nonprofit administrators. As <a href=\"https:\/\/news.artnet.com\/market\/zohran-mamdani-anne-imhof-wet-paint-2616465\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Artnet News reported<\/a>, Mamdani was popular among the downtown crowd, with dealer Elyse Derosia cohosting a fundraising event for him ahead of the primary. Artists and creators like Martine Syms, Ser Serpas, and Michael Stipe showed up, per Artnet, which quoted Dean as saying, \u201cI think his platform resonates because most people \u2018downtown\u2019 are feeling the squeeze of a New York City unconcerned with its working class.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ a-font-body-m     \">\n\tMany in the art world rejoiced when Mamdani trounced Cuomo.
