Oshana Regional Council<\/p>\n<p>The member of the left-wing Swapo party previously spoke about his infamous name after coming to global attention following his win in the Ompundja constituency.<\/p>\n<p>His father \u201cprobably didn\u2019t understand what Adolf Hitler stood for. As a child, I saw it as a totally normal name,\u201d the politician\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bild.de\/politik\/ausland\/politik-ausland\/politiker-heisst-wirklich-so-adolf-hitler-in-namibia-gewaehlt-74237610.bild.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">told German newspaper Bild<\/a>\u00a0in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOnly as I grew up did I understand this man wanted to conquer the whole world. I have nothing to do with any of these things,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Uunona\u2019s wife calls him Adolf, but in public, he normally omits Hitler.
