Missing high school football coach Travis Turner was being investigated for child porn and soliciting a minor when he vanished<\/a> as cops were heading to his home, it was revealed Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The 46-year-old married father has been the subject of a missing person\u2019s probe ever since he disappeared when cops headed to his home Appalachia, Va., last Thursday, with officials initially staying mum on the nature of the investigation.<\/p>\n

Police finally revealed Tuesday that Turner \u2014 the head grid coach at Union High School in Big Stone Gap \u2014 is wanted for five counts of child pornography and another five of using a computer to solicit a minor.<\/p>\n

\"FootballVirginia State Police have since launched a full search, utilizing search and rescue teams, drones, and K-9s to locate Turner. Facebook\/Leslie Turner<\/p>\n

Ten warrants were issued for his arrest late Monday, cops said.<\/p>\n

\u201cPolice are actively searching for Turner,\u201d state police said in their Tuesday update, without elaborating on the exact nature of the allegations.<\/p>\n

The bizarre saga kicked off when Turner\u00a0was listed as a missing person on the Virginia State Police database late last week when he disappeared Thursday in the middle of an undefeated season.<\/p>\n

Cops said they were heading to the coach\u2019s home as part of the \u201cearly stages of an investigation\u201d when he vanished.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis was part of the investigation, and not to arrest him.\u00a0While in transit, the agents were informed that Turner was no longer at the location,\u201d police said.<\/p>\n

In a\u00a0since-deleted Facebook post\u00a0<\/a>obtained by News Channel 11, Turner\u2019s wife, Leslie Caudill Turner, said Friday that the coach was missing \u2014 \u201cand that\u2019s all we know.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe love him and need him here with us,\u201d she wrote. \u201cJust keep praying that he comes home.\u201d<\/p>\n

The mystery surrounding his disappearance only deepened when officials at Wise County Public Schools, which oversees Union High, revealed that an employee within the district\u00a0had been placed on administrative leave.<\/a><\/p>\n

Initially, neither cops nor the school would confirm whether Turner was the employee in question. <\/p>\n
