Dana White promised he wasn\u2019t pressing charges against Dillon Danis for a brawl that exploded out of the crowd at UFC 322 but that doesn\u2019t mean police won\u2019t still go after everybody involved in the melee.<\/p>\n
That\u2019s according to outgoing New York City mayor Eric Adams, who took to social media to blast the bad behavior that happened at the event in Madison Square Garden that included Danis and numerous members of Islam Makhachev\u2019s team. The wild brawl broke out during the event with Danis eventually being removed from the arena but no arrests were made at the time.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese assaults at Madison Square Garden are completely unacceptable,\u201d Adams wrote on Twitter. \u201cThe NYPD is already conducting a full investigation, and everyone responsible will be held accountable.\u201d<\/p>\n
Of course before becoming mayor, Adams was a 22-year veteran with the New York Police Department.<\/p>\n
It remains to be seen if any charges are filed with everybody involved in the brawl being a fighter, although most are not actually signed to the UFC.<\/p>\n
Adams\u2019 term is also coming to an end in January with new mayor Zohran Mamdani being sworn into office after winning the November election.<\/p>\n
\u201cI blame myself for that actually,\u201d White explained. \u201cThey came back and told me right before I walked out for the main card that Dillon Danis was here and he was moving around and sitting in fighters\u2019 seats and not sitting in his own seat that he had a ticket. They said, \u2018Do you want us to throw him out of here?\u2019 I said, \u2018He has a ticket?\u2019 They said, \u2018Yeah.\u2019 They told me \u2018[Jorge] Masvidal said he\u2019s going to f*ck him up on sight.\u2019 I said, \u2018Where\u2019s Masvidal sitting?\u2018 Well he\u2019s six or seven rows away from Masvidal. I said well if the guy has a ticket, let him sit in his seat and let him do what he\u2019s doing and keep an eye on him.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt never even crossed my mind as stupid as this could be that the entire Muslim brotherhood was here tonight in the first five rows for Islam [Makhachev]. As soon as it broke out, I was over on the other side and I go \u2018F*ck, I know exactly what that is.\u2019 I knew it.\u201d<\/p>\n
White then declared that Danis was banned from attending all future UFC events but stated that the promotion wasn\u2019t going to seek to press charges against him.<\/p>\n
