Two popular items under the Boar\u2019s Head brand are being recalled due to a risk of listeria monocytogenes.<\/p>\n

Ambriola Company, the supplier of pecorino romano cheese for the Boar\u2019s Head brand, issued a recall<\/a> for select products due to the potential presence of listeria. <\/p>\n

The products under recall include:<\/p>\n

Boar\u2019s Head Grated Pecorino Romano Cheese – 6 oz. UPC code 0-42421-05858. Sell By: 11\/21\/25 \u2013 3\/12\/26.Boar\u2019s Head Pecorino Romano Cheese – 7 oz. UPC code 0-42421-15160. Sell By: 11\/25\/25 \u2013 5\/11\/26.<\/p>\n

Listeria is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.<\/p>\n

While healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.<\/p>\n

Customers are urged to not use these items and instead, return the product to the store for a refund or replacement.<\/p>\n
