A crazed gunman shot two\u00a0National Guard troops in an \u201cambush\u201d-style attack \u2014 leaving them in critical condition \u2014 just\u00a0blocks from the White House<\/a>\u00a0on Wednesday, according to law enforcement sources and officials, who shortly after confirmed that the suspect was in custody.<\/p>\n

Russia shot down President Trump\u2019s claim that the Kremlin had already agreed to some concessions on\u00a0ending the war<\/a>\u00a0in Ukraine \u2014 as Moscow blasted innocent Ukrainians with\u00a0fresh drone strikes<\/a>\u00a0overnight.<\/p>\n

Multiple Russian officials insisted it was too premature to speak about accepting any\u00a0peace plan<\/a>\u00a0and that Moscow wouldn\u2019t agree to anything that didn\u2019t fully meet its demands.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the mother of White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt\u2019s nephew has been detained by federal immigration officials in Massachusetts.<\/p>\n
