President Trump said late Thursday that he intends to \u201cpermanently pause\u201d migration from all \u201cThird World Countries,\u201d to allow the US to \u201cfully recover\u201d in a Thanksgiving Truth Social post.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cEven as we have progressed technologically, Immigration Policy has eroded those gains and living conditions for many,\u201d Trump wrote late Thursday night.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries to allow the U.S. system to fully recover, terminate all of the millions of Biden illegal admissions, including those signed by Sleepy Joe Biden\u2019s Autopen, and remove anyone who is not a net asset to the United States,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Trump also said he intends to end all federal benefits and subsidies for \u201cnoncitizens.\u201d<\/p>\n

He will additionally \u201cdenaturalize migrants who undermine domestic tranquility, and deport any Foreign National who is a public charge, security risk, or non-compatible with Western Civilization,\u201d he wrote in the long post.<\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s comments came following a deadly ambush on two National Guard members<\/a> near the White House on Wednesday, which investigators say was carried out by Afghan national Rahmanullah Lakanwal.<\/p>\n

Lakanwal, 29, entered the US in 2021 from Afghanistan in the aftermath of the Biden administration\u2019s withdrawal as part of the \u201cOperation Allies Welcome\u201d program.<\/p>\n

The alleged gunman served in the elite NDS-03 counterterrorism unit in Afghanistan, one of at least five paramilitary \u201cZero Units\u201d that worked with the CIA, according to the group AfghanEvac, a nonprofit run by American veterans helping resettle Afghan allies in the US, but not Lakanwal.<\/p>\n

CIA Director John Ratcliffe confirmed Lakanwal worked with the intelligence agency. His service to the US helped him get admittance.<\/p>\n

Lakanwal had applied for asylum in December 2024 and later got approval under the Trump administration in April of this year.<\/p>\n

In the 24 hours since the shooting \u2014 which killed\u00a0West Virginia National Guard member Sarah Beckstrom, 20, and left Guardsman Andrew Wolfe, 24, critically wounded \u2014 the Trump administration has pursued radical, sweeping immigration provisions.\u00a0<\/p>\n

There will be a\u00a0\u201cfull-scale, rigorous reexamination\u201d of every green card holder\u00a0<\/a>from countries \u201cof concern\u201d in response to Wednesday\u2019s shooting, US Citizenship and Immigration Services Director Joseph Edlow claimed on X.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Edlow wrote that\u00a0Trump<\/a>\u00a0had requested the gargantuan review, which is expected to encompass green card holders from at least 19 countries.<\/p>\n
