IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect

For starters, the Cowboys only needed one first-round pick to land Williams. The idea that Williams would have needed Parsons and a first-rounder before the season seems a bit much.

Parsons also fetched the Cowboys two first-round picks plus Kenny Clark, which is much more in line with a return for a star — even if some questioned it — than giving up a pick and Parsons for a player.

The Cowboys sent Micah Parsons to the Packers. IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect

Jones claimed Friday morning that the Jets deal — regardless of which version may have actually been discussed — did not come to fruition since they didn’t have the cap room to pay Parsons.

The polarizing owner eventually got his man at the trade deadline and Williams has helped lead a midseason revival for a team that once seemed dead to rights.

make every NFL game pay off

!["underdog]("https://www.newsbeep.com/us-ny/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/UnderdogLogo_Final_stacked-black.png")
