BROOKLYN, N.Y. \u2014 Shiloh Ezderman poured in a career-high 21 points and Tottenville earned its first win of the season with a 58-48 non-league victory over host John Jay on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Ezderman surpassed his previous high by 10 points thanks in part to nine field goals, including his fourth career three-pointer, and a pair of free throws.<\/p>\n
Danny Garcia and Elias Souleidis added 12 points apiece and Abdelrahman Hassan chipped in with eight for the Pirates as they evened their record at 1-1.<\/p>\n
The teams battled to an 8-8 deadlock after one period, but the Pirates slowly but surely gained control after outscoring the Jaguars 37-29 in the middle two quarters. Garcia (10 points), Ezderman (nine points) and Souleidis (eight points) led the surge.<\/p>\n
Tottenville then put the game on ice behind Ezderman (six points) and a 5-for-6 performance from the free-throw line (Hassan 3 for 4) during the final eight minutes.<\/p>\n

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 JJ Yates scored a team-high 17 points and the Lions carried a lead into the final quarter, but the visiting Eagles squeezed out the CHSAA A victory in Oakwood.<\/p>\n
In addition to Yates (three treys), Matt Scalisi added 14 points and Jack Gomez scored 12 for the Lions, who dropped to 0-2. Scalisi and Gomez added two threes apiece.<\/p>\n
Kevaughn Mitchell scored a game-high 19 points for Salesian (1-0), including a 6-for-8 performance from the free-throw line and a three. Marvell Hammett, Jonathan Lagos, Max Rauchman and Jaison Bonner teamed for another 26 markers for the New Rochelle school.<\/p>\n
The Lions trailed at the end of the first (16-11) and halftime (27-25), but Yates scored nine third-quarter points and Scalisi added a trey to help the hosts take a 39-37 advantage into the final period.<\/p>\n
Although Yates tallied five more points in the fourth, Mitchell (3 of 4 free throws) and Hammett teamed for nine points while Rauchman and Bonner added a trey apiece to help the Eagles earn the one-point victory.<\/p>\n

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 The host Centrals delivered a commanding performance on Saturday by overpowering the Knights during a non-league contest to improve to 2-0 overall.<\/p>\n
New Dorp imposed its will midway through the first quarter by using a suffocating defense, physicality inside and a relentless pace to explode to a 44-22 halftime lead and it never looked back.<\/p>\n
Mohammed Mustafa set the pace with 22 points while Leo Qoku provided a consistent inside presence with 15 points for the Centrals.<\/p>\n
Mohammad Alshaer, meanwhile, also added an interior presence and finished with 10 points and eight rebounds while point guard Jayden Crawford chipped in with six points, nine assists and five rebounds.<\/p>\n
