Matthew McDermott<\/p>\n<p>The youngster was slapped in the face in what appeared to be an unprovoked attack, according to sources.<\/p>\n<p>The boy\u2019s father, who was with him at the park, witnessed the assault and reported it to police, sources said. <\/p>\n<p>The child was treated at a police precinct and was not physically harmed in a major way, cops added.<\/p>\n<p>A person of interest was taken into custody, according to police.
