Pet Shop remained a favorite stop for regional indie bands. Despite the death of Ruth Moore, <a href=\"https:\/\/jcitytimes.com\/at-moores-lounge-a-melodious-goodbye-to-ruth-moore\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the jamming continued on Monticello Avenue<\/a>. The festivals came back for another go: Groove on Grove, Jersey City Jazz and Latin Jazz, <a href=\"https:\/\/jcitytimes.com\/bigger-outdoor-and-free-hudson-west-music-fest-returns-downtown-september-13\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hudson West<\/a>, Pushing Up Daisies and the Ghost of Uncle Joe\u2019s, the <a href=\"https:\/\/jcitytimes.com\/this-weekend-the-zombie-opera-rises-again\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Zombie Opera<\/a>. Art House Productions hosted acoustic acts, the Statuary continued to attract first-rate jazz performers to the Heights, and after a long breather for Monty Hall, a select few live bands made some noise from WFMU\u2019s dedicated club stage again.<\/p>\n<p>But the year\u2019s biggest story wasn\u2019t a happy one. Fox &amp; Crow, a beloved venue for live music, <a href=\"https:\/\/jcitytimes.com\/the-closure-of-fox-crow-is-a-blow-to-local-music\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">stopped booking in January 2025 and announced its permanent closure in February<\/a>.
