\u201cI just met with the President,\u201d Noem wrote on X. \u201cI am recommending a full travel ban on every damn country that\u2019s been flooding our nation with killers, leeches, and entitlement junkies.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur forefathers built this nation on blood, sweat, and the unyielding love of freedom \u2014 not for foreign invaders to slaughter our heroes, suck dry our hard-earned tax dollars, or snatch the benefits owed to AMERICANS,\u201d the DHS chief continued. \u201cWE DON\u2019T WANT THEM. NOT ONE.\u201d<\/p>\n

A DHS spokesperson told The Post a list of nations affected by the proposed travel ban would be announced \u201csoon.\u201d<\/p>\n
The recommendation is the latest step from the Trump administration to reduce the flow of foreign nationals into the US in the wake of last week\u2019s\u00a0Thanksgiving eve attack<\/a>\u00a0on two West Virginia National Guard members in Washington, DC.\u00a0<\/p>\n The administration had previously announced that it would halt all asylum decisions and re-examine more than 720,000 green card holders from 19 \u201ccountries of concern\u201d after\u00a0Rahmanullah Lakanwal<\/a>, a 29-year-old Afghan national, allegedly gunned down\u00a0Sarah Beckstrom<\/a>, 20, and critically injured Andrew Wolfe, 24, near the White House.\u00a0<\/p>\n The aftermath of the deadly Washington, DC, shooting that killed one National Guard member and left another critically wounded.
