Its annual <a href=\"https:\/\/bkgives.brooklyn.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Brooklyn Gives<\/a> campaign is mobilizing residents to back local organizations facing rising demand and dwindling resources.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"808\" data-start=\"344\">The campaign features hundreds of nonprofits addressing urgent needs across Brooklyn, from food access and immigrant support to housing justice, youth development, senior services, arts, culture\u00a0and more.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"808\" data-start=\"344\">Brooklynites are encouraged to explore and support these organizations through <a href=\"https:\/\/bkgives.brooklyn.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">bkgives.brooklyn.org<\/a>, now through the end of the year. Some groups will also be eligible for matching funds and cash prizes provided by Brooklyn Org and its philanthropic partners.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"808\" data-start=\"344\">\u201cBrooklyn\u2019s nonprofits are the essential support for our communities right now when so many of our neighbors say they are struggling to afford the basics of everyday life,&#8221; said Dr. Jocelynne Rainey, president and chief execurive officer of Brooklyn Org. &#8220;Brooklyn Gives is our collective chance to stand together with our nonprofits so we all move forward together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"1118\" data-start=\"810\">The drive comes on the heels of the organization&#8217;s fall survey, which paints a dire picture of the sector:<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"1118\" data-start=\"810\">\u2022 86% of nonprofits report higher operating costs<br data-end=\"999\" data-start=\"996\"\/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u2022 60% have had government funding cut<br data-end=\"1039\" data-start=\"1036\"\/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u2022 More than half are unsure they\u2019ll remain financially stable going into 2026.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"1318\" data-start=\"1120\">Brooklyn Org stresses that nonprofits are carrying much of the borough\u2019s safety net, feeding families, supporting mental health, mentoring youth and keeping communities afloat as living costs climb.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"1599\" data-start=\"1320\">Incentives for donors this year include:<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"1599\" data-start=\"1320\">\u2022 A $100,000 matching fund for contributions to the 20 Spark Prize finalists<br data-end=\"1446\" data-start=\"1443\"\/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u2022 Ten nonprofits receiving $500 surprise grants on GivingTuesday, Dec. 2<br data-end=\"1531\" data-start=\"1528\"\/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u2022 All donations going directly to frontline Brooklyn organizations.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"1883\" data-start=\"1601\">Brooklyn Gives keeps charitable dollars in the borough, prioritizing grassroots and community-rooted organizations that understand local needs.
