Critics have the run of awards season right now. On December 1, the Gotham Awards<\/a> gave One Battle After Another<\/a> and It Was Just an Accident<\/a> its highest honors, and just one day later, it\u2019s time for the New York Film Critics Circle Awards. Made up of 47 New York\u2013based critics, including Vulture\u2019s Alison Willmore and Bilge Ebiri, the NYFCC individually announces each winner on social media beginning at 10 a.m. ET. In the past decade, nine of its Best Film picks have gone on earn nominations for Best Picture at the Oscars (with the exception of Kelly Reichardt\u2019s 2020 film First Cow<\/a> somehow). None have gone on to win Best Picture. Will 2025 break the cycle?<\/p>\n Below, the NYFCC winners are updating live, starting with the picks for Best Supporting Actor, Best International Film, and First Film.<\/p>\n The New York Film Critics Circle is announcing its winners shortly.
