Wu-Tang Clan\u2019s limited-edition take on the classic game has officially sold out, leaving fans refreshing retailer pages and wondering if another batch is coming.<\/p>\n
Created by The Op Games under license from Hasbro, the collaboration reimagines Monopoly through the group\u2019s universe, swapping out Park Place and Boardwalk for iconic album titles, Staten Island landmarks and tour stops that map the Clan\u2019s three-decade legacy.<\/p>\n
Instead of Chance and Community Chest, players draw \u201cEnter the Wu-Tang\u201d and \u201cWu-Tang Community\u201d cards inspired by moments and inside jokes from the group\u2019s history. Even the houses and hotels get a makeover, renamed Gold Singles and Platinum Singles.<\/p>\n
The most coveted pieces might be the custom metal tokens. Sets include six sculpted designs that players move around the board: the Wu-Tang symbol, killer bee, nunchucks, record, microphone and samurai sword. The version sold through the Wu-Tang official store also advertised three exclusive tokens and a surprise bonus poster.<\/p>\n
On Nov. 19, the group announced the pre-order on Instagram<\/a>, writing, \u201cPre-order the limited-edition MONOPOLY: Wu-Tang Clan Edition with three exclusive Wu tokens and a surprise bonus poster only on the Wu-Tang Clan official store.\u201d Shortly after, the Clan followed up in the comments with an on-brand update: \u201cThe analysis from Wu-Tang Financial is in: We are sold out. Stay tuned for opportunities to diversify ya bonds next time.\u201d<\/p>\n Specialty retailers that carried the set have since marked it sold out as well. A few sites offer \u201cnotify me\u201d options<\/a> for potential restocks, but there\u2019s no official word that more boards are coming, and nothing on Wu-Tang\u2019s site suggests it. The product page still reads: \u201cLimited to 360 boards.
