Nicole Franzen and Styled by Dominique Baynes<\/p>\n<p>The siblings call Moss a mix of \u201cintelligent leisure\u201d \u2013 20,000 square feet of dining and social space \u2013 and \u201cphysical culture,\u201d 20,000 square feet dedicated to health and wellness.<\/p>\n<p>The skyscraper is technically a mixed-use building, which \u201cadds to the fabric of the club and the community,\u201d said Colleen Brooks, who previously worked for JPMorgan Chase and Fortress.<\/p>\n<p>Moss\u2019 signature restaurant, Babette, is inspired by <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2020\/09\/21\/the-most-mouth-watering-food-porn-moments-in-classic-films\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the movie \u201cBabette\u2019s Feast\u201d<\/a> and will focus on New American cuisine with French and East Asian accents. Bar Babette, overlooking Fifth Avenue, will feature oysters, martinis and more.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s also Lil\u2019s, a jazz piano lounge, which will offer live music over small bites and cocktails, plus a more intimate sitting room space; and Inklings, a library bar with experimental cocktails.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Hailey and Colleen Brooks call Moss a mix of \u201cintelligent leisure and physical culture.\u201d  Courtesy of Will Pippin<\/p>\n<p>A two-story gym that opened Monday comes with a longevity clinic, thermal pools, a Turkish-style steam room, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/09\/09\/lifestyle\/pilates-owner-speaks-out-about-the-double-standards-women-are-sick-of\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">pilates<\/a>, and a pickleball-and-half-basketball court \u2013 plus a spa, treatment rooms, yoga and personal trainers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Members will also have access to a game room with mahjong, backgammon and poker; a podcast studio that can also function as a DJ booth; and a vinyl listening room that can be booked for karaoke, too.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s also a special space for \u201cfireside chats\u201d and speaker programming. But they persisted in the belief that \u201cNew Yorkers want to spend their time with a better quality of life in the city. People will self-select and find their own community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We hear\u2026 that New York hotel bars are upping their game for locals and tourists alike.<\/p>\n<p>In Midtown, celebrated London bartender Ryan Chetiyawardana \u2014 known as Mr. Lyan \u2014 has opened Seed Library in Nomad\u2019s Hotel Park Avenue, formerly the Mondrian Hotel. The bar, at 444 Park Ave. South, is adjacent to the hotel\u2019s new restaurant, Park Rose.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s Lyan\u2019s first permanent spot in New York, which he launched in collaboration with Lore Group and Renwick Hospitality. There is currently a Seed Library in London\u2019s Shoreditch area, along with two other bar concepts in Amsterdam and Washington, DC.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Seed Library has opened in in Nomad\u2019s Hotel Park Avenue 444 Park Ave. South. Nicholas Ruiz<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to bring our concept to New York,\u201d Chetiyawardana tells Side Dish, adding that the Big Apple\u2019s Seed Library will be seen through a \u201cNew York lens of timelessness and glamour.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The mixologist, known for nuking Manhattans for a more \u201cmellow\u201d flavor, is still using a microwave for \u201crapid infusions and the occasional bowl of popcorn.\u201d He\u2019s also bringing New Yorkers his \u201cOG\u201d British cocktail, a coriander seed gimlet that\u2019s made with white grapes instead of lime, as well as a dessert-style koji hardshake cocktail mix of whiskey, miso, koji, and cream topped by a toasted marshmallow.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Seed Library is led by head bartender Nicole Giampino, formerly of Clemente Bar. New cocktails include an Old Fashioned reimagined with Redbreast 12, kombu cucumber, honey and sherry, while mocktails feature a Thai basil soda.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Seed Library is adjacent to the Park Rose restaurant, above. Nicholas Ruiz<\/p>\n<p>Basic bar bites include a whipped feta cheese dip with salsa verde and nan bread along with a Lyan burger with English cheddar, bacon and gherkins.<\/p>\n<p>We hear\u2026 The new Faena New York hotel has a secret cocktail.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The hotel is home to the restaurant La Boca, by Argentine chef Francis Mallmann, and three bars: the Living Room; El Secreto, located behind an unmarked door; and La Cava, a wine cellar for private dinners.<\/p>\n<p>The hotel is in the East Tower of the luxury residence building One High Line. The sculptural, twisted set of towers were designed by the Bjarke Ingels Group, or BIG.<\/p>\n<p>Now architect Bjarke Ingels has created his own cocktail, inspired by the buildings\u2019 unique design: the \u201cOxymoron.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new Faena New York hotel\u2019s secret cocktail is called \u201cThe Oxymoron.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe \u2018Oxymoron\u2019 is exactly what it sounds like \u2014 a union of contrasting ingredients that harmonize to make one very balanced cocktail,\u201d Ingels tells Side Dish.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s smoky yet bright, Nordic yet Latin.
