New York (WRGB) \u2014 Congresswoman Elise Stefanik announced a major federal investment to bring next-generation semiconductor technology development to New York State.<\/p>\n
The U.S. Department of Commerce has signed a $150 million Letter of Intent with xLight, an American technology firm working on cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing. The agreement will support the development of advanced extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography technology at the Albany Nanotech Complex, one of the nation\u2019s leading research hubs for chip innovation.<\/p>\n
Stefanik said the deal as a significant win for New York\u2019s technology and manufacturing industries.<\/p>\n

The release says the investment will strengthen U.S. national and economic security by accelerating domestic chip production and reducing supply chain reliance on foreign manufacturing.<\/p>\n
According to the release, xLight\u2019s EUV lithography technology has the potential to drive down costs and expand manufacturing capabilities at semiconductor fabrication facilities across the United States, including those operating in New York.<\/p>\n
