Gridlock Alert Days are when city officials predict unusually high traffic volumes on city streets, with residents encouraged to use alternate forms of transportation whenever possible.<\/p>\n
The first few gridlock days of the year typically coincide with the start of the United Nations General Assembly, with the annual event typically leading to extensive street closures and delays across Manhattan.<\/p>\n
The gridlock days for the remainder of 2025 will run through the holiday season.<\/p>\n
