Police are ramping up their manhunt efforts with drones and dozens of officers as they search for a man who sexually assaulted a teenage girl in Edenwald.<\/p>\n
The 13-year-old girl was on her way to school when a man lured her into a secluded area and performed a sexual act in front of her.<\/p>\n
He then ran away.<\/p>\n
It happened around 8:30 a.m. Thursday near East 233rd Street and Wilder Avenue as the girl was passing Seton Falls Park.<\/p>\n
The area is often used as a cut-through for children on their way to school, and now parents and neighbors are on high alert.<\/p>\n
“It’s very scary I have an 8-year-old, 5-year-old and 2-year-old, and crazy people don’t care about age,” Philip Asamoah-Bomas said. “It’s hard, very scary” <\/p>\n
“I just hope they get this guy off the street cause you got kids that walk, that go to school, there’s a library, there’s kids in there now,” Don, an Edenwald resident said. “I just hope they get this guy off the street.”<\/p>\n
Police say the girl was not physically injured. <\/p>\n
They describe the man as bald and heavy-set, wearing all black. <\/p>\n
