UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) — The New York Department of State\u2019s Division of Consumer Protection is urging a federal investigation into the “Truck & Car Set: 2 Vehicles with Trailer” toy due to hazardous lead levels.<\/p>\n

The office’s research found the toy’s red and gray coatings contain lead levels up to 11 times the federal limit.<\/p>\n

The toy, distributed by Old East Main Co., was sold at Dollar General stores across New York State.<\/p>\n

The Division has requested a national recall and asked Dollar General to remove the toy from shelves, which has been done pending further testing.<\/p>\n

Consumers are advised to dispose of the toy or await recall instructions.<\/p>\n

Those with unopened toys may seek a refund or store credit from Dollar General, according to the office.\u00a0<\/p>\n
