public feud with Richard Sherman<\/a>, after the former All-Pro cornerback and current Prime Video analyst lit into the controversial receiver for what he considered a lackluster effort.<\/p>\nSherman called Pickens \u201cuninterested,\u201d accused him of fading in big moments and questioned whether teams could trust him with a massive contract, saying top receivers \u201cdon\u2019t get to disappear\u201d when their team needs them the most.<\/p>\n

Pickens had only five catches for 37 yards in the loss to Detroit in a game where Dallas desperately needed him to step up after their top receiver exited.<\/p>\n
But Pickens didn\u2019t stay quiet for too long. <\/p>\n
The receiver fired back on social media in a post he later deleted, calling Sherman a \u201cp\u2014y ass\u201d and accusing him of exaggerating the situation for attention. <\/p>\n
The message didn\u2019t stay up long, but not before screenshots circulated widely.<\/p>\n
\u201cLots of shh has to go right for. Explosive. Plays,\u201d Pickens wrote in a since-deleted Instagram story on Friday. \u201c\u2026 and it\u2019s funny cause I thought former players would know that such as. RICHARD P\u2014Y ASS SHERMAN WHO BTW AINT SHH WITHOUT THE LEGION OF BOOM WE ALL REMEMBER SAN FRANCISCO BROTHER..\u201d<\/p>\n
Pickens was seemingly referring to Sherman\u2019s stint in San Francisco from 2018-20, although the corner was an All-Pro and Pro Bowler in 2019.<\/p>\n

Sherman also played with the Buccaneers before retiring after the 2021 season.<\/p>\n
During the \u201cTNF\u201d postgame show, Sherman tore into Pickens.<\/p>\n
\u201cGeorge Pickens, throughout the game, especially late in the game, looked uninterested,\u201d Sherman said. \u201cUninterested in playing football. And that\u2019s what you can\u2019t have. If you\u2019re going to be a superstar, if you want to be the best receiver in the National Football League, you can\u2019t ever be disengaged. It doesn\u2019t matter if the game is going your way or not going your way, you can\u2019t just disappear in these games or else you\u2019re not going to have impact.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re the guy, CeeDee Lamb is not in this game, he\u2019s out, and you get intercepted on your slant routes, and you can\u2019t be the guy and you half-ass it. I\u2019m sorry, it\u2019s unacceptable and if you\u2019re looking at him and you\u2019re looking to pay him big-time receiver money, $40 million, you got to look at this tape and say, \u2018Hey, this is a guy we can trust to pay $40 million regardless of circumstance?\u2019 I don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n
On Friday afternoon, Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer said he will talk with Pickens about what went down on social media.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m aware of what was supposedly put out there,\u201d Schottenheimer said Friday. \u201cI\u2019ve not talked to him yet. I understand it\u2019s been taken down, but I will be talking to him, just checking on him. Again, this is unfortunately things that we deal with in this profession.
