Elden Campbell\u2019s sister said his death \u201cwas all the sudden.\u201d 11.5.96<\/p>\nThe person who phoned cops to report Elden Campbell\u2019s death told police the former Lakers center\u2019s body appeared to have washed ashore \u201cin a white casket\u201d in Pompano Beach, Fla.<\/p>\n
The caller said he was sitting on the sand when he noticed something emerge from the ocean, according to 911 audio from Monday obtained by The Post.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt looks like a casket,\u201d the man can be heard saying in the call. \u201cIt looks like a human body on the floor \u2014 like, dead.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t get close to it,\u201d he continued. \u201cBut I put on my camera and I zoomed in, and I was zooming in and it looked like a dead person on the floor in a white casket.\u201d<\/p>\n
Carey Todd, a spokesperson for the Broward County Sheriff\u2019s Office, told The Post on Friday that investigators arrived on the scene shortly before 8 p.m. and found Campbell dead \u201cnext to a jet ski.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe information about the casket was inaccurate,\u201d Todd said.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt this time,\u201d Todd added, \u201cthere is no foul play suspected, and the death investigation is ongoing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Campbell\u2019s sister, Sandra, told The Post earlier this week<\/a> she believed her brother had collapsed following a fishing trip.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was all the sudden,\u201d she said. \u201cHe wasn\u2019t sick. He was out fishing.\u201d<\/p>\n
