STATEN ISLAND, NY \u2014 Officers from the NYPD 121st Precinct who worked on Thanksgiving Day received a holiday breakfast that morning from the precinct\u2019s Community Council, supported by local community organizations.<\/p>\n
The event brought together community leaders and law enforcement to recognize officers who staffed the precinct during the holiday. Robert Orlando, president of the 121st Precinct Community Council, organized the breakfast with participation from the Council of Jewish Organizations of Staten Island and Making A Change With Kindness.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe success of this breakfast is a testament to the strong bond between the 121st Precinct and the community it serves,\u201d Orlando said. \u201cI want to thank everyone who contributed to making this event happen.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mendy Mirocznik, president of COJO, praised the precinct\u2019s leadership and the opportunity to spend Thanksgiving morning with officers.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo have the opportunity to start Thanksgiving Day with the dedicated officers of the NYPD makes the holiday infinitely more meaningful,\u201d Mirocznik said. \u201cTheir commitment to keeping our community safe, even while we celebrate with family, is the true embodiment of service.\u201d<\/p>\n
Annesa Ali, COJO chief of staff and CEO and founder of Making A Change With Kindness, said the organization was honored to support the officers.<\/p>\n
\u201cSeeing the smiles on the faces of the officers and knowing we could provide a little piece of home for them during their shift is why we do what we do,\u201d Ali said. \u201cMACK is proud to support the 121st Precinct, and we appreciate every single officer who sacrificed their holiday to protect our community.\u201d<\/p>\n
