Behind all of the glitz and glam of the New York City real estate market is a team of SERHANT agents working to get it done\u2014and while there\u2019s certainly some drama when it comes to securing multimillion-dollar deals, there\u2019s even more among the realtors featured in Owning Manhattan<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Most of Season 2\u2019s \u201cdrama\u201d is centered around Jessica Taylor, Nile Lundgren, and Genesis Suero\u2019s feud, but there\u2019s also an element of unaddressed conflict. With Tricia Lee<\/a> airing her frustrations with Jessica Markowski<\/a>\u2014both to other SERHANT agents and in her confessionals\u2014we can\u2019t help but wonder where the two currently stand.<\/p>\n

In the show, Lee complains that it\u2019s \u201cirresponsible\u201d of Markowski to make real estate look easy, and claims that the Polish agent is able to secure most of her business through her well-connected husband.<\/p>\n

Lee\u2014who stopped by DECIDER\u2019s studio ahead of Season 2 dropping on Netflix\u2014said she has never vocalized any of these issues directly to Markowski, and doubled down on her \u201cobservations.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cWe all have a cheat in real estate,\u201d Lee explained. \u201cI had a business that was very successful in my borough and introduced me to a lot of really dynamic women in Brooklyn. That is my cheat. That gets me into rooms that other people won\u2019t get into \u2013 even today. And that was 10 years ago. Opportunities come to me because of that.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cWe all have a cheat and her husband is a cheat,\u201d she continued. \u201cI\u2019m not dissing it. That\u2019s the reality. You\u2019re not getting those opportunities on your own. That\u2019s your cheat. It\u2019s just the same with my former business. I\u2019m not always getting those opportunities on my own. It\u2019s the relationship and reputation I built from that world that benefits me in this world. So it\u2019s a workaround to be more successful in real estate.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lee\u2019s problem is that she feels like Markowski \u201ctakes that and layers it with this, \u2018Oh, well-ah, I just sold a $1 million property, or well-ah, I just sold a $10 million property.’\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cWhen people are out here having to build a business from scratch, like 99.9% of agents, you\u2019re selling this image that hurts us, which is we get overpaid for little work and we have no true value,\u201d Lee said. \u201cI don\u2019t agree with anyone that puts that out there.\u201d<\/p>\n

The SERHANT agent added, \u00a0\u201cWe\u2019re out here trying to work and be respected. We don\u2019t need anyone on TV or otherwise promoting the fact that we show up with great hair and great heels, and that\u2019s how we get listings. That\u2019s just not the truth. If it was, we wouldn\u2019t be working anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n

Markowski, for her part, was unaware that Lee felt this way until we spoke to her ahead of Season 2 (side note: none of the cast had seen the episodes before they dropped on Netflix).<\/p>\n

\u201cIt saddens me that she feels any type of way about me, because one thing I know about myself is I work harder than anybody knows,\u201d Markowski said. \u201cComing from an immigrant family, we came to America with nothing in our pockets and I work so hard.\u201d<\/p>\n

Markowski explained that she only posts the \u201chighs\u201d of her successes on social media for \u201coptics,\u201d noting that she doesn\u2019t show off the \u201chard work\u201d that goes into deals behind the scenes.<\/p>\n

\u201cI do work hard,\u201d Markowski reiterated. \u201cI have a $30 million listing in Greenwich Village. I have a $17 million apartment in One High Line. I have new developments I\u2019m working on. I\u2019m on the top No. 1 team at our company, and for her to feel as though I am not promoting well or doing well, it just saddens me that she feels this way.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut you know, jealousy gets the best of people sometimes,\u201d Markowski concluded.<\/p>\n
