On Saturday, she added to that average by scoring 29 points, the last of which was her 1,000th career point, during a 71-13 PSAL 4A victory over Port Richmond at home.<\/p>\n
In the process, she joined her brother Caden Williams on the Island\u2019s 1,000-point scoring lists for boys and girls. Williams scored his 1,000th point last season, also for Susan Wagner.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt feels surreal; a couple tears of joy came but this wouldn\u2019t have been possible without my teammates, my coach, my mom, God and all of the people that supported me through this journey,\u201d said McKinney. \u201cAnd joining my brother as a 1,000-point scorer is also surreal. He is\/was one of my biggest inspirations, so just following in his footsteps is something I always saw myself doing.\u201d<\/p>\n
Needing 29 points entering the game to reach the milestone, McKinney\u2019s 1,000th point came at the free-throw line in the second quarter and she didn\u2019t return after that. She added seven rebounds in the tilt.<\/p>\n

\u201c(She) has been a Godsend to our program,\u201d said SW coach Tom Rizzo. \u201cCasey, her mom, brothers and family are genuinely some of the greatest people you\u2019ll ever meet in this lifetime. <\/p>\n
\u201cShe\u2019s a leader both on and off the court. She\u2019s represented our program with the utmost pride, commitment, and dedication. She\u2019s one of the best bigs I\u2019ve ever had the pleasure of coaching. What a great accomplishment for a truly wonderful young lady whose best days are ahead of her. We are all truly proud of her.\u201d<\/p>\n
McKinney isn\u2019t setting any special goals for the rest of the season; she simply wants to continue doing what she has all along \u2014 guiding the Falcons to their strong 3-0 start in league play.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy goal for the rest of the season is to continue to play hard, be a strong leader on the team and help my teammates get better while also making myself better,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

BRONX, N.Y. — The Tigers won in the Slinky High School Showcase Saturday at Truman High School as Rita Moschella, Alyssa Lopez and Hailey Parcell combined for 22 steals in a strong defensive effort.<\/p>\n
Valentina Li finished with a team-high 11 rebounds. <\/p>\n
Lopez led the way with 20 points and Moschella added 14.<\/p>\n

Leah Gunther scored eight points, while Sandra Gorbonos and Lola Quigley played tough defense. Sophia Snyder played very hard under the basket and crashed the boards.<\/p>\n
