After a rousing curtain-raiser by REBNY president Jim Whelan, Holliday praised outgoing Mayor Eric Adams\u2019 accomplishments as a \u201ccheerleader\u201d for the city and his role in promoting rezoning and housing creation.<\/p>\n<p>Realty Check columnist Steve Cuozzo and SL Green chief Marc Holliday at the Real Estate Board of New York\u2019s holiday luncheon last week.  NY Post<\/p>\n<p>Asked whether the office market would keep up its on-fire pace, Holliday saw no imminent large threat. He said plans would be announced early next year for 346 Madison Ave., the former Brooks Brothers store site which SL Green recently purchased for future redevelopment.<\/p>\n<p>He highlighted the importance of major amenities at new office towers such as the \u201cimmersive events\u201d space at Summit atop One Vanderbilt with food curated by Boulud. Noting that many of today\u2019s towers, not only SL Green\u2019s, boasted such features, he cited the \u201cgreat job [Vornado chief] Steve Roth has done near Penn Station.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>SL Green chief Marc Holliday suggested a willingness to \u201cwork with\u201d Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani. Pacific Press via ZUMA Press<\/p>\n<p>His comment presaged his remarks in SL Green\u2019s investors\u2019 call the next day, when he said, \u201cMy early read, based on key early appointments, is that we\u2019ll be able to work with this new administration.\u201d<br \/>Boulud celebrated his partnership with SL Green, the city\u2019s largest commercial landlord. Boulud\u2019s Le Pavillon and Joji at One Vanderbilt and La Tete D\u2019or at One Madison are among the city\u2019s most acclaimed new eateries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople talk about them wherever we travel,\u201d Boulud said \u2013 meaning in other cities where his Dinex Group operates, including a return to London in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The Real Estate Board of New York\u2019s holiday luncheon at the Metropolitan Club drew 200 attendees.<\/p>\n<p>The 200-strong crowd included developer-landlords Jeff Gural and Jonathan Resnick, dealmakers Paul Massey, Mitti Liebersohn, David Goldstein, Mitch Arkin, Lou D\u2019Avanzo, Tom Bow, Leslie Hummel and retail whiz Joseph Aquino hawking his book \u201cMemoirs of a Watch Salesman.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fried Frank real estate chairman Jonathan Mechanic came as well, fresh off hosting his firm\u2019s holiday party 48 hours earlier.
