Josh Hart isn\u2019t sure Knicks teammate Jalen Brunson would make a good mayor, but he thinks it would be hilarious to see.<\/p>\n

Brunson received 29 total write-in votes in New York City\u2019s recent mayoral race<\/a>\u00a0— 27 as “Jalen Brunson” and then two misspellings of his name — despite not having a political platform, not being on the official ballot and not even living in New York City.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cReally?\u00a0That\u2019s funny,\u201d Hart said when informed of his friend\u2019s political success at Knicks practice on Monday. \u201cI\u2019m surprised it was only [29]. Maybe he should run when he retires.\u201d<\/p>\n

Does Hart think Brunson\u00a0would make a good mayor?<\/p>\n

\u201cProbably not, but it would be funny to see,\u201d said Hart, who also received one write-in vote.<\/p>\n

Brunson beat out all other sports figures with Aaron Judge coming in second with 11 write-in votes.<\/p>\n

For now, however, Brunson said he has ruled out having a political career any time soon.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt this point in my life, no, I would not consider it,\u201d Brunson said with a laugh. \u201cWe have a great fan base and it\u2019s funny. It\u2019s cool to see but I\u2019m going to stay in my lane.\u201d<\/p>\n
