NEW YORK (PIX11) \u2014 Even if there\u2019s nobody around, there will be an eye in the sky watching. The MTA is expanding its automated camera enforcement<\/a> in New York City very soon.<\/p>\n

MTA cameras<\/a> will be added to four more bus routes starting on Friday, Dec. 12. The routes will be added to 54 others that are currently enforced as a way to crack down on people using the bus lanes illegally.<\/p>\n

According to the MTA, more than 1,400 buses are now ACE-equipped.<\/p>\n

Any vehicles found using busways and bus lanes, blocking bus stops, or illegally double-parked will receive warning notices in the mail for an initial period of 60 days, followed by summonses afterwards. Summonses start at $50 and escalate to $250 for repeat violators.<\/p>\n
