STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 Authorities allegedly found drugs on a 37-year-old man who, they say, was openly drinking a beer on a street in New Dorp.<\/p>\n
Andrew Ramirez of Bionia Avenue in South Beach was imbibing from a can of Modelo on Nov. 8 at about 10:23 p.m. in the vicinity of New Dorp Plaza and North Railroad Avenue, and had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, according to the criminal complaint and police.<\/p>\n
Officers then found a plastic bag containing white cocaine powder inside Ramirez\u2019s sweatshirt, and a scale tainted with cocaine in a pocket of the man\u2019s pants, the criminal complaint alleges.<\/p>\n
Ramirez allegedly provided police with a false name and date of birth.<\/p>\n
Ramirez has been charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, criminal use of drug paraphernalia, criminal possession of a controlled substance, false personation and an administrative code violation of consumption of alcohol on street prohibited.<\/p>\n
Ramirez has pleaded not guilty to all charges and has been released with non-monetary conditions. He is due to appear in state Supreme Court in St. George on Jan. 7, according to public records.<\/p>\n
