Andy Cohen<\/a> had a very blunt response when Ryan Serhant<\/a> asked him to make a cameo in the second season of Owning Manhattan<\/a>.<\/p>\n

When Serhant visited DECIDER\u2019s studio this week, he looked back on selling Cohen\u2019s West Village apartment for just over $10 million<\/a> to actor Danny Strong last summer. The purchase came soon after the price of the 3,500 square foot penthouse duplex was slashed from $14 million to $12 million to \u201cmeet the marketplace,\u201d per Serhant.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe best part about working with Andy is that he is the consummate professional, and he understands that when he hires people to do a job, they will do the job,\u201d Serhant told us. \u201cI have a lot of clients who are incredibly successful that micromanage everything, and they call me 57 times a day. \u2018What are you doing now? Did you do this? How come you suck? I didn\u2019t realize Ryan is spelled F-A-I-L.’\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cAndy would only touch base with me when he needed a little bit of assurance on the marketplace,\u201d Serhant added, noting that the marketplace, in conjunction with the space\u2019s unique setup, was why they decided to lower the original price.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe had also combined multiple apartments in a co-op that doesn\u2019t allow washer\/dryers over two floors to make his own incredible compound, which is a specific home for someone special, which we found and got that deal done,\u201d Serhant said.<\/p>\n

The real estate mogul\u2014who surprised Cohen with a listing agreement<\/a> when he appeared on a July 2024 episode of Watch What Happens Live\u2014wasn\u2019t sure that he agreed with the Bravo icon\u2019s statement claiming their behind-the-scenes interactions \u201cwould make for its own show<\/a>,\u201d though he did ask Cohen to make a cameo in Owning Manhattan Season 2, which was filmed while the apartment was listed for sale.<\/p>\n

\u201cI asked him to do the show, and he was like, \u2018Bravo\u2019s better,’\u201d Serhant\u2014who got his reality TV start on Bravo\u2019s Million Dollar Listing New York<\/a>\u2014revealed. \u201cI was like, \u2018I didn\u2019t realize it was a battle.’\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Serhant, there were a lot of factors going into selling Cohen\u2019s apartment\u2014from differing personalities, to co-op boards \u2014that made him think the deal \u201cprobably could have or should have died at the 11th hour.\u201d However, he promised Cohen he would \u201cget this deal done\u201d\u2014and, as always, he delivered.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow it\u2019s done. It\u2019s fine. And you don\u2019t remember all those little things,\u201d Serhant said. \u201cBut yes, maybe in one of his books he can write about it.\u201d<\/p>\n
