GoFundMe<\/p>\nA Long Island \u201csports dad\u201d was brutally attacked by a street vendor over a measly $20 purchase outside Manhattan\u2019s iconic Beacon Theatre, leaving him with a traumatic brain injury, according to police sources and his loved ones.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Sean Llewellyn, 47, had just left a concert outside the Upper West Side venue on Broadway near West 75th Street the night of Nov. 30 when he tried to make a purchase from a man selling knickknacks outside, the sources said.<\/p>\n
Llewellyn handed the seller $20 \u2013 and was apparently owed change \u2013 but the shady hawker ran off with the bill, according to the sources.\u00a0<\/p>\n
When Llewellyn chased after him, the vendor was joined by several other people who began beating the dad up, the sources said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The blows were enough to send Llewellyn to the hospital with a traumatic brain injury and a broken eye socket, according to a GoFundMe page organized on behalf of his family.\u00a0<\/p>\n
No weapons appeared to have been used during the savage attack, sources said.<\/p>\n
His family said their loved one has a long road to recovery ahead of him, as he is set to undergo surgery, according to the fundraising page.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cSean is a dedicated family man, a proud sports dad, and the \u2018fun coach\u2019 everyone loves,\u201d the page reads.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs the primary provider for his family, including his three young boys at home, this tragedy has created an overwhelming financial strain,\u201d the relatives wrote.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith Sean unable to work and significant medical expenses ahead, the family needs support now.\u201d<\/p>\n
Llewellyn, of Long Beach, is a youth hockey coach, and he and his wife Shannon \u201care devoted and dedicated members of their community,\u201d according to the GoFundMe.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThey consistently take time away from their own family to support fundraising for others in need, chair church events, and volunteer in countless ways,\u201d the couple\u2019s loved ones wrote. <\/p>\n
\u201cTheir generosity and commitment have touched so many lives, and now, in their time of need, the community has an opportunity to give back.\u201d<\/p>\n
