The \u2018Big Apple Connect\u2019 Digital Learning Resource Hub is rolling out live virtual classes, pre-recorded training sessions and additional resources on topics including the basics of computer hardware, online privacy and security, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The first free live training, \u201cGetting to Know Your Computer,\u201d takes place Tuesday, Dec. 16 in English and Thursday, Dec. 18, in Spanish, with more languages to come. Learners should register online at  <a href=\"http:\/\/techhubnyc.org\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">techhubnyc.org<\/a>. A recording of the class and instructional materials will be posted on the site following the live training.<\/p>\n<p>Mayor Eric Adams created the Office of Technology and Innovation to consolidate NYC\u2019s disparate digital offices. The city\u2019s efforts to bridge the digital divide have centered on three areas: internet access, devices, and digital skills training, Fraser said in a release.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Big Apple Connect provides access to  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyc.gov\/site\/hpd\/news\/015-25\/city-launches-neighborhood-tech-help-bridge-digital-divide-across-boroughs\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">free internet<\/a> and basic cable to 220 NYCHA sites.
