Glenn, who said the Jets “had a bump in the road last week” in a 34-10 loss to the Dolphins, believes his team is trending in the right direction. Prior to the Week 14 loss to Miami, the Green & White had won 3 of the last 5 games. And even in two losses to the Ravens and the Patriots, there were several positive takeaways.<\/p>\n
The Jets will now have a prime opportunity to respond in Week 15 against a Jaguars team that is playing at a high level in all three phases.<\/p>\n
“That’s the good thing about this league — every week is different,” Glenn said. “There are just ebbs and flows of how this game goes. But getting a chance to be able to [say], ‘OK, I dealt with some adversity this week, how am I going to operate next week?’ That tells you a lot about how your team is operating.<\/p>\n
“I will say this, over the course of this season, I’ve seen the mental toughness of this team continue to rise. So, I have no doubt in my mind that those guys will go out and compete their [expletive] off this week.”<\/p>\n
Battle of Special Teams Powerhouses
The Jets’ special teams unit has been among the league’s best this season, and on Sunday, it will face another unit that has been firing on all cylinders.<\/p>\n
Jacksonville’s Parker Washington has returned an NFL-high two punts for touchdowns this season, making the Jaguars and the Jets two of the four teams in the league to return multiple punts for TDs in 2025.<\/p>\n
“I think he has all the tools in his bag to be able to be as dynamic as he is,” special teams coordinator Chris Banjo said of Washington. “I think they have a really good scheme in regard to how they get things done. The guys over there play really, really hard.”<\/p>\n
Jaguars kicker Cam Little has also been a standout. The second-year player set an NFL record earlier this season with a 68-yard FG in a win over the Raiders.<\/p>\n
“You can tell he takes the field with confidence every time he steps out there,” Banjo said of Little.<\/p>\n
Banjo, who said he remains focused on how his unit can continue to put its best foot forward, will have his group ready to compete again on Sunday.<\/p>\n
