{"id":70512,"date":"2025-12-14T20:06:09","date_gmt":"2025-12-14T20:06:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/70512\/"},"modified":"2025-12-14T20:06:09","modified_gmt":"2025-12-14T20:06:09","slug":"62-year-old-man-dies-in-van-nest-house-fire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/70512\/","title":{"rendered":"62-year-old man dies in Van Nest house fire"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 62-year-old man was killed in a fire at a multifamily home that erupted Friday night in Van Nest, according to authorities.<\/p>\n<p>Firefighters responded to the home at 1440 Saint Lawrence Ave. just after 9 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Twenty-five fire units and over 100 crew members fought the heavy flames as they spread to a second building.<\/p>\n<p>Officials say the flames were brought under control just after 10 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>News 12 spoke to Dufort Joseph, the owner of one of the homes impacted by the fire. He said he was renting a room to the 62-year-old who died.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He was a nice guy, he [went] to church every day.
