A unique handgun laser light\u00a0helped cops nail\u00a0 Brown University\u2019s possible mass shooter, who traveled more than 1,150 miles from Wisconsin to Rhode Island to carry out his deadly attack<\/a>, law-enforcement sources and a report revealed Sunday.<\/p>\n

A revolver \u2014 and a small handgun equipped with a special laser light \u2014\u00a0 was found in the hotel room of a man now considered a \u201cperson of interest\u2019\u2019 in the horrific case, according to sources and CNN.<\/p>\n

Asked where he\u2019d been Saturday, the man claimed he\u2019d been in his room the whole time, CNN said.<\/p>\n

The handgun laser aided investigators in identifying the man, sources told The Post.<\/p>\n

The individual, only identified as a man in his 20s, was taken into custody at the Coventry, RI, hotel early Sunday\u00a0after authorities banged on the door and ordered him to open it up, officials said.<\/p>\n

Once inside the suspect\u2019s hotel room, police found the two weapons, according to sources\u00a0 and CNN.<\/p>\n

The person of interest is believed to have traveled all the way from Wisconsin to Rhode Island to carry out the attack, the sources added, but the motive remains unknown.<\/p>\n

Two students were killed and nine more wounded during the carnage in a classroom during a final-economics-exam study review session Saturday.<\/p>\n

Officers were able to track down the individual with the help of the FBI, whose Cellular Analysis Survey team geolocated the man to the Coventry hotel, according to agency director Kash Patel.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThanks to the men and women of the FBI and our partners for their continued teamwork. Please continue praying for the victims and their families \u2014 as well as all those at Brown University,\u201d Patel said in a statement.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Law-enforcement sources previously told the Associated Press that the gunman in the Brown shooting was armed with a handgun and fired more than 40 .9mm rounds when he stormed a classroom during a review for an economics exam.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Providence police and local officials have yet to provide further details on the shooting as the investigation remains \u201ccomplex\u201d and moving fast<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It remains unclear if the suspect has any affiliation with the university.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Police have also yet to name the victims of the shooting, noting earlier on Sunday that not all the families have been made aware yet of their loved ones\u2019 conditions.\u00a0<\/p>\n
