STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 A Staten Island elementary school recently held its annual health and wellness fair.<\/p>\n

The PS 13 event in October aimed to establish connections between families and available area resources.<\/p>\n

More than 250 students and families, and more than 40 vendors, attended the event at the Rosebank school. Families practiced Tae Kwon Do, explored emergency vehicles, visited with horses, and attended a book fair. Rumble Boxing worked with students and distributed coupons for a free class.<\/p>\n

Additionally, more than 20 families were able to use the Colgate van to receive full dental examinations. There were also 45 applications for library cards with the New York Public Library and 200 bags of fresh fruit and vegetables distributed via City Harvest.<\/p>\n

Richmond University Medical Center helped students and families build a paper chain of words associated with happiness and joy. Tribeca Pediatrics also connected families with pediatricians within its organization.<\/p>\n
